At seven each evening, Pearl Baptiste keeps one table free at her Caribbean restaurant in Atlanta. There is no bill, no referral, and no requirement to tell a sad story before dinner. But a meal rarely stays simple. An anxious father needs interview practice. A seamstress wants a quiet plate of fish and absolutely no matchmaking.
