Blood & Betrayal

About this book

In Jamaica, power isn't always held by those in government. Sometimes, it belongs to the men who control the streets, the money, and the secrets everyone will die to protect.

From the bustling streets of Kingston to the dangerous criminal networks stretching between Spanish Town and Montego Bay, "Blood & Betrayal" is a gritty Jamaican crime saga where political corruption, organized crime, family loyalty, and personal vengeance collide.

When financial officer Adrian Campbell uncovers decades of government embezzlement, his pursuit of justice exposes a deadly network of powerful men. But the corruption runs deeper than anyone realizes, reaching into communities where young men like Malik Bennett are trapped in blood debts they never truly agreed to pay.

As old secrets surface and loyalties fracture, the lives of ordinary Jamaicans become entangled in a struggle against men who have ruled through fear for generations.

In a country where justice can be bought, silence is enforced, and betrayal often comes from those closest to you, one question remains:

How much blood must be spilled before the debt is finally paid?

About the author

D. G. James

D. G. James

The author is dedicated to bringing the untold stories, settings, and complexities of Jamaican life into psychological thrillers, urban dramas, and speculative fiction. His creative journey began as a teenager in Jamaica, sparked by a history assignment that challenged him to imagine the lived reality of a young man captured into the Middle Passage. This early fascination with the internal human experience stayed with him as he later moved to the U.S. and entered the military.
During his active-duty service starting in 1999, James finally put pen to paper for his first major project, a story titled The Martian Chronicles, which would ultimately evolve into his published work, The Red Myths. While his military background provides a foundation of technical realism and jargon for his world-building, his true passion lies in centering Jamaican characters and situations in genres where they are rarely seen.
Whether he is navigating the grit of urban drama or the mind-bending tension of a psychological thriller, James writes to bridge cultural heritage and modern storytelling. Beyond his fiction, he writes self-help books designed to help readers reclaim and master their personal narratives.
